Refrigerated workbenches

A refrigerated workbench is an indispensable tool in many professional kitchens, such as restaurants, hotels and catering companies.

What is a refrigerated workbench?

A refrigerated workbench is basically a combination of a workbench and a refrigerator. The top, made of stainless steel, serves as a cool work surface where you can prepare ingredients. Below this worktop is a refrigerated compartment, often with doors or drawers, where you can keep products cool.

How does a refrigerated workbench work?

A refrigerated worktop works in the same way as a normal refrigerator, but with an added feature: the cool worktop. As in a refrigerator, a refrigerant keeps the temperature in the compartment constantly low. Depending on the model, there may be different temperature zones to keep different products at their best. The worktop is cooled by the cold air rising upward from the compartment. This ensures that the surface always remains cool, ideal for preparing cold dishes or kneading dough. A ventilation system ensures good air circulation in both the compartment and above the worktop. This prevents condensation and ensures that the temperature is evenly distributed.

Types of refrigerated workbenches

At Horecacentrum Brabant we offer a wide range of refrigerated workbenches. Large, small, with doors or with drawers. We have everything to choose from. Thus, the range includes refrigerated workbenches with one door, two doors, three doors, four doors to as many as five doors. Should drawers suit your situation better, you can choose from a refrigerated workbench with two to nine drawers. Of course, it is also possible to purchase a combination of both doors and drawers. This provides ideal work and storage options for yourself and your employees. Want to quickly locate products in the busy evening rush hour? No problem either! Horecacentrum Brabant offers various refrigerated workbenches with glass doors so that the staff can see the products even before the door is open.

Need a workbench at a slightly lower temperature? No problem! In addition to our range of refrigerated workbenches, we also have all types and sizes of freezer workbenches. Choose one of these high-quality workbenches to keep scoop ice cream, for example, always at the ideal temperature.

Benefits of refrigerated workbenches in the hospitality industry

Efficiency and space saving are the two most prominent reasons for using a refrigerated workbench in the hospitality industry. In fact, the seamless integration of a refrigerated workbench with a countertop offers even more benefits. First, a refrigerated workbench helps you and your staff keep ingredients and prepared food at the right temperature which promotes the freshness and quality of your products. In addition, you save valuable space because you no longer need a separate refrigeration and workbench. These things together maximize the efficiency of your kitchen and increase production capacity. With the high-quality refrigerated workbenches from Horecacentrum Brabant, you therefore experience the convenience of all-in-one cooling and working.

Choosing the Right Dimensions

Customization for your catering business. When selecting the right refrigerated workbench, it is very important to consider the space available in the kitchen and the specific needs in the operation. Our refrigerated workbenches are available in different sizes from compact size for smaller kitchens to spacious units for larger catering establishments. For example, our range offers refrigerated workbenches from forty centimeters wide to as much as two hundred and fifty centimeters wide. Also take into account the depth of the workbench to ensure there is enough walking space to move easily through the space. No matter how big or small your business is. There is always a suitable solution for you.

In addition to size, the type of cooling system is an important consideration to make. You have the choice of a static or forced cooling workbench. With a static refrigerated workbench, the space is cooled by natural air circulation. This is great for products that can handle temperature fluctuations well, such as fruits and vegetables. For products that cannot handle temperature fluctuations as well as meat and fish, it is better to choose a forced cooling workbench. These cool using a fan that distributes cold air evenly throughout the cooler.
